Rain In Summer

When clouds covered hot, scorching sun, I felt as cozy as blanket in cold,
When there was cool breeze, I felt like flowing with it,
When there was earthy storm, I felt like standing within the whirlpool and going around the city with it,
When there were showers upon me, I felt like the rain drops are taking pain within me,
When trees were going with the wind, I felt like dancing along with nature,
When it was lightening, and only the lights appeared, my heart said wow,
But when it brought loud sound too with it, my body said shiver!!

When this rain stopped, like a nursery rhyme I said,
O rain, rain….come again, come again ….
How pleasant you make the weather,
How beautiful you make the nature.
You make earth livable
You make life enjoyable!!

Kanatal

Our journey started with a setback of our transport being late by an hour and a half. We were unable to contact driver or even the owner which added to the anxiety.
Kanatal, 300 km far from Delhi at an altitude of over 8500 feet ( approx. 2500 ft above from Mussoorie, 38 kms far from it). We stayed in Swiss camps there; tents were made up of Aluminium sheet and cloth type tent fabric. Other than Camping, other adventurous activities which we did at there were hiking, trekking, rappelling, valley crossing. Our whole day was consumed in doing these activities and they were quite a fun. At night, a bonfire was arranged with snacks and tea.

The Camps

I wanted to go to some peaceful, natural place from this metro’s life since long. Plus it was a relief for a while from Delhi’s summer. Although I experienced lack of energy due to my bad health but I connected with my team members there, which added a flavor to the trip and subsequent days in team, which made it a good and successful trip. Moreover, I got the benefit of exploring my camera more and got few good clicks.

The paper had 6 sections and each section was independent of one another. You will b provided with the fixed time limit for each section and question paper of that particular section will be taken after that time. Point here to be noted is that question papers of all the 6 sections were provided at the beginning of the exam, so u can go to the next section if you are done with the previous one before its time limit.

Here I have tried to pen down few details of all the 6 sections:
Section A (20 min): This section consisted of psychometric analysis. It had a constraint that failing to attempt even one question will make your paper not to be evaluated. This section was given time limit of 20 min with 40 questions. Out of 40, 30 questions were of agree/disagree. In the remaining 10 questions, each question had 6 statements & we have to allot them marks according to their priorities in our life and those marks should sum up to 30, I don know y that 30 funda was there, but it was there and my this section went bad rest all went okay.
PS: It was written in the results that due to some mistake, this section was not considered while evaluation of MICAT-2009.

Section B (15 min): This section had objective type questions of general awareness. Some of them were:
1) What is the color of ‘idea’?
2) Which company has the punch line ‘connecting to the future?’
3) Reliance collaborated with which Hollywood company
a) Time Warner
b) Fox Entertainment
c) Walt Disney
d) Time Entertainment

4) Question from Satyam scandal (current affair at that time)
5) Find odd one out

Section C (20 min): This section had 40 objective type questions, all of same kind. In this we have to associate one word out of four given words with other given four words. For e.g.,

Clues                                                      Alternatives

1. Blowing                                                 a) Rind
2. Set                                                           b) Mind
3. Out                                                          c)Wind
4. Brain                                                      d) Get

In above question mind is associated with all four words, mind-set, mind-blowing, out of mind and brain & mind can b used interchangeably.

Section D (15 min): This section had DI, LR objective type questions as in CAT but simpler than that.

Section E (30 min): This section had questions to check our English efficiency. It had all types of questions that appear in CAT like it had one passage, grammar usage, arrange in paragraph, fill in the blanks etc.

Section F (30 min): This section had concept of creative writing. In this we had to write two articles in 300/150 words, one on ‘pub culture is reason for increasing crimes against women in metros n mini metros’ and in next question, we were given a picture and we have to write a story on covering the scenario of the picture, the dialogue that might happen within those characters of the picture at that time and the starting of the story with the ending of this.

When people do something unexpected weather good or bad with me, I try to accept it…but when I am the reason to hurt someone else, I am not able to accept it. This happens with me, don’t know the same case is with others or not. So, why does it happen like that?? May b because we have heard a million times that the life is not so easy n the world outside is not so good….but we have always seen ourselves as a good soul….we have always been a good person(in our frame of a good person ) or tries to be the one.

Actually everything is relative, we have our own ideologies, our own rules of life, and when something goes against that we are not able to accept it. But what to do when you know that u are wrong there, what to do when u know that u yourself are responsible for the other person’s discomfort.

I have heard it somewhere that your “all decisions need not to b correct, if your 60-70% of decisions are correct then u r done with it”, then u can lead your life successfully/ happily. I would also like to quote warren buffet

“You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things wrong.”

Should this b applied in relationships too or this is rightly said within reference to business only??

we take decisions on daily basis and that too many decisions per day… then why do we believe that our every decision ought to b correct? Till we do not know the other perspective of that decision, the effect of that decision on the individual at the other end, we are comfortable with it, but what happens when we come to know its consequences on the person at the other end. If we can be happy with our 10 right decisions, the why do we not have the capability to bear consequences of that one wrong one??? Why do we brood over it again and again and imagine that what if you would not have done that. One way is to not to brood much over that, another to learn from our mistake. But here one more case arrives that what to do when u know that you were right in your context, with reference to your own life, with reference to your preferences n priorities towards life. Freedom of an individual is defined as “u are free to do anything in your life till your activities does not hinder others life in any of the way”. But when both individuals are true with their perspectives, the one is expecting and the one is not able to come up to the expectations, then what should be done.

Not getting any exact answer to this, do you have? I got only this as solution that try not to repeat again in future and decide things by considering individual at other end, but again the same thing arrives that u were right according to your priorities.. And it becomes a vicious circle

Well, I think that’s LIFE!! And it should be led happily

Engineering is the discipline of acquiring and applying scientific and technical knowledge to the design, analysis, and/or construction of works for practical purposes.

Wikipedia says that. But is it really so?? I really wonder!! What part of it has left now?

Because for the greater part of the mob, engineering in our country has become just a way to earn the living. But the thing which concerns me these days more than that is whenever exam approaches, the engineering people sits holding a book/e-book or some photocopy with tension playing with them, cramming up all n putting it all on the examination booklet. Acquiring knowledge and applying it are something like alien talks; in fact aliens are much more popular now. All they have on their mind at that time is how to score more n more. In fact now a day the children, from the very beginning, since their childhood are learning how to score more with less knowledge, they have never been inspired to acquire more knowledge. As a result of which we people(most of us) never have craving for knowledge.

It is an incident of last endsem, when I had exam of one of the interesting subject(for me),after attempting 40% of paper, I didn’t wish to write anything, mera mann hi nai kar raha tha!, because there was a feeling that I will definitely be able to pass with what I have written then why to write something, if passing only matters to us and when I do have knowledge then what is the sense in writing it somewhere when not applying it. I was fed up of writing just for the sake of those marks which matters nothing other than having some good score on score sheet and feeling good for a time being.But what good this score will do, if we have only theoretical knowledge of things and engineering is all about application, n thing which has to be looked upon is that we do not have some theoretical knowledge even, all we cram just for the so called EXAMS.

So, is doing engineering right if we do not have appropriate interest? Or its course pattern and use of proper resources are not up to the mark to nurture the engineering skills in students? Or pattern of judging the knowledge is erroneous. Is it the fault of students, parents or the system or the whole comprising all of them in which we are studying?? One of my friend say that me n my exam never go well together, may be this is the reason that I have never been convinced by this funda of exams!!

Om Shanti Om, once again Shahrukh Khan’s show. The King Khan’s name is sufficient to make it a super hit even before its shoot. The movie is introducing the gorgeous model ‘Deepika Padukone’ presenting her damn beautifully but the show remain of sharukh only. The movie do not justifies her acting as it might be knowingly or unknowingly hidden behind the script, camera, retakes, dubbing.

The show begins with a lover guy (our boy Shahrukh Khan named as OM) who immensely loves a superstar (as we all know to Deepika Padukone being casted as SHANTI(priya)) who dies saving her life and as all old age movies he reincarnates(again as OM) and plans to kill the villain, which makes it as Om-Shanti-Om. But movie also contains a secret which do not cut the thread of interest to viewers.

A movie with a decent star cast but strategically publicized fully with 31 stars in one song. The music is rhythmic which is popular among the youth. The song ‘Darde Disco’ also presented the heartthrob Shahrukh’s muscular body which looks as if the is being made to show it the same which can be said for another stand for publicity. In my opine the movie was only a short step ahead for Farah Khan in the field of the direction, just a lil’ bit of finishing is being provided to it than ‘Main Hoon Na’, the first movie directed by her. So, the movie is totally a bollywood mix masala movie with a bit of comedy too in it but a less of emotion comparatively which makes it unlike every Shahrukh’s movie.

So,if u considers that the cinema should provide some message to the mankind or to the society ,then it might not give u a taste but it gives u surety for entertainment or it can better be phrased as ‘kahani poori filmy hai’, so it will be going to engage you pleasantly.
